Orchard Enlightenment, HerefordshireOrchard Enlightenment, Herefordshire

This morning, through the orchard, light flooded for a few minutes. A photographers medium is at the most essential level, just light, and light alone. It's often for mere magical moments or minutes that it is right. And perhaps that's the beauty of its art - and its frustrations for those of us who attempt to practice it.

Perhaps one in every twenty magical mornings the constellations of demands on my time come together to place me in the right place at the right time. Most often, I will be in the car, or sitting eating breakfast, or working, when I glance out of a window, or along the road, and see magic happening. I treasure those secret moments. I am not sure whether I treasure them more or less when I actually have a camera handy - and there is something nice knowing that I don't need to work out an exposure, and just enjoy.

This morning, the magic, the light, came to the living window, and this is the view. I think it was a good start to the day....
